Abstract: This paper deals with the investigation of the petrified flower Chitaleypushpam mohgaoense Paradkar and redescribes the flower in as much detail as possible. The present petrified flower was collected from well known fossiliferous locality Mohgaonkalan, M.P., India, where Deccan Intertrappean beds are exposed. The previous diagnosis of the genus and the species is emended. The additional characters of Chitaleypushpam are especially about structure of carpels. In the present fossil flowers gynoecia are seven carpeled and nine carpeled in Specimen-A and Specimen-B, respectively. Besides this, in cross section the ovary reveals stellate structure. From the above discussion it is clear that present fossil flowers closely resemble Chitaleypushpam mohgaoense Paradkar in many characters and hence are placed under the same genus and species with emended diagnosis.
