Abstract: Palmoxylon ghuguensis sp. nov. showing close resemblance with the extant Chrysalidocarpus Intescens has been described from the Deccan Intertrappean beds near the village Ghugua. It shows characteristic divided phloem placed above the metaxylem in the fibrovascular bundles.
