Abstract: A new species of the genus Cheirophyllum, viz. C. maithyi is described from the Pench East Incline underground project, Pench Valley Coalfield, Satpura Gondwana Basin, Madhya Pradesh. The species is characterized by absence of apical lobes, obtuse apex and ridges and furrows on lamina. Ridges show a number of thin veins.
