Abstract: | In this article the establishment of a fourth
pteridophytic phylum the Psygmophyllopsida is
explained. The Devonian Barrandeina Pot. et
Bern., Duisbergia Kr. et W., Jenisseiphyton Anan.,
Haspia Kr. et W. and similar types are attributed
hereto. The Devonian Cladoxylineae, the Carboniferous Noeggerathiineae as well as the recent Psilolineae are regarded as special pteridophytic evolutionary trends, arisen directly out of this group. The pteridophytic phylum Sphenopsida (Articulatineae) as well as the gymnospermic phyla Cordailopsida, Ginkgopsida and Coniferopsida are regarded as major evolutionary lines arisen too of this phylum. |
