Abstract: The paper deals with the anatomical studies and identifications of four new fossil woods of Dipterocarpaceae. Fossil specimens resemble the modern woods of Dipterocarpus, Anisoptera, Shorea and Hopea. The new fossil woods are named as Dipterocarpoxylon cuddalorense sp. nov., Anisopteroxylon coromandelense sp. nov., Shoreoxylon speciosum sp. nov. and Hopeoxylon indicum gen. et. sp. nov.
