Abstract: A petrified palm stem from Mohgaon Kalan (Madhya Pradesh, India) is described in detail. The stem differs from all petrified palms known from India in many respects including the distribution and form of the vascular bundles and their f/v ratio. The stem is referred to a new species of Palmoxylon-P. parthasarathyi and is placed in the Reniformia section of Cocos-like palms.
