An Upper Triassic Miospore assemblage from the coals of Lunz, Austria

Abstract

A miospore assemblage recovered out of Upper Triassic (Lunzer Schichten) coal from Lunz (Austria) has been described. Lunzisporites gen. nov., and Peroaletes gen. nov., are the new genera described and the generic diagnoses of Lechikisporis Pot., Thoms. & Thierg, Cycadopites Wodehouse and Decussatisporites Lesch., have been critically discussed and their comparative diagnoses elaborated. The assemblage has been compared with all the known, contemporary spore assemblages.
