Abstract: The present paper describes in detail the dispersed spores and pollen grains from Andigama (Ceylon) shales which were previously recorded by one of us (SAH, 1953). The present study throws more light on the probable age of these beds. The assemblage points towards their being younger in age than the Rajmahal assemblage (Nipania, Sakrigalighat and Basko) and older than the Lower Cretaceous. It has been concluded that the Andigama beds are Upper Jurassic in age.
