| Abstract: | Two petrified woods from the Cuddalore Series near Pondicherry are described. One of these shows closest resemblance with the woods of Sterculiaceae and the other with those of Lagerstroemia of Lythraceae. They have been named as Sterculioxylon pondicherriense sp. nov. and Lagerstroemioxylon arcotense sp. nov. respectively. |
