Abstract: The paper describes two new species, one each of Liknopetalon (Smithies) Anderson & Anderson and Lelstotheca Maheshwari, from the Permian strata of the Rajmahal Hills, Jharkhand, India. The new species are named, respectively, as Liknopetalon rajmahalensis and Lelstotheca harikrishnae . On the basis of certain similar floristic elements, these strata appear to be floristically equivalent with those of Middle Ecca Series of South Africa and the Permian strata in a ravine section near Mamal Village in Liddar Valley of Kashmir Himalaya.
